Just like I loved Half-Life, The Legend of Zelda, and Doom, other first-time experiences from this and last year. And I loved Mario 64 as a first-timer in 2020. But ultimately the real question is whether the game is good or not, full stop, and how well it works within its limitations. I do like playing once-revolutionary retro games from a historical perspective, and I find that's plenty stimulating. I mean, any aesthetic emotion that can't survive more than a handful of years or even months is not worth getting bent out of shape about.
